He
was elected to the NARAS (National Academy of Recording Arts and
Sciences) Board of Governors in 1992 thru 1994, and again in 1997 thru
1999, and now has been re-elected to serve from 1999 thru 2001.
He
serves on the NARAS Educational Committee. He serves on the board for
Music Cares, a NARAS program to help industry people in need.
He
is a graduate of Leadership Music's first class in 1990. Leadership
Music is an extensive course that educates candidates in all facets of
the entertainment industry.
Eddie came out on top in this years
MODERN DRUMMER Readers Poll,
winning for the 6th year in a row. Eddie has now been placed
on the magazines honor roll.
He
won Drum Magazine's first Drummer of the Year Award and has
recently won it again for 1999!
He
won the Most Top Ten Albums Award from Music Row Magazine (compiled from
Billboard Magazine) for 8 years and has recently won again for 1999.
On May 23rd, 2002 in Los Angeles, Eddie won the
Academy of Country Music's Drummer of the Year for the 11th consecutive
year. No artist or musician has accomplished this in the history of the
organization. Brooks and Dunn have taken the award 10 times, but not
consecutive.
He
won the Nashville Music Awards Drummer of the Year for 3
years.
